What Does It Take To become An ICT Student?

Being a student is not easy. There are lot of things to do in order to become an outstanding and excellent in school. It requires patient, hard work and determination. Wanting is not enough.
As a student, it is hard for me maintain a high grades in my different subjects especially in TLE. What does it really takes to become an ICT student? Of course, it needs a lot of knowledge about computers. You must know how to operate one from the basic to the most difficult one. You must remember all the lessons that were discussed. Because if you won't, it will be hard for you to do the given task. You should also apply what you have learned. It should not be left in your mind only. It also requires patience and a strong memory. You should also put your heart into it.
ICT is not all about your grades. It is also about what you have learned during the class.

My Dream, My Future

High school life will be over soon. As a preparation for the future, a student should have decided what course he will take up in college. And as a student, I had already decided what course I am going to take.
I want to be a teacher someday. I want to share all the knowledge I know. In order for me to achieve my goal, I have to take the risk and do my very best. Inspiration is not enough. I have to take actions. In reaching my dreams, it takes hard work, determination and passion. Others may despise the thought of me being a teacher but I am not deterred. This is what I want. This is my life. It is my future. It is my decision to make, not theirs. If I am going to listen to them, I know that I will not be happy about it. It may scare the hell out of me to stand in front of many people, but I know I can. Who said that I can't? I once read a book that says: "Do the  things everyday that scare you the most." Being fearless doesn't mean 100% unafraid. It is being terrified but you just jump anyway.

Change: It Starts With Me

There is no permanent in this world except change. Change always happens all the time whether we like it or not. But there are people who are afraid of change. They can't accept that everything that happens in their life is part of it. But it depends on us if  we are willing to change for the better. For me, change starts with myself.
I know that it is not easy to change for the better. I once thought that I should not change myself into someone different from the real me. But I realized, I have to change. Not because I want to be that person they want me to be. It is because that I want to change for my own good. I want to improve myself. I want to remove all  of my bad characteristics. I want to be a better person. Better than before. It is not them why I changed. It is me. I may not remove all the bad things about me, but at least, I did something to change myself into a better person. I was not afraid. Hesitant at first, but I just jumped anyway. :)

Reflection of the Third Grading

Another grading is about to end. As the days passed by, I've learned many things. I have done many things. Learning always excites me. I have learned how to make a web page. I had the chance to express what is in my mind through Blogger. I had so much fun though, very stressful because we had to rush many projects. But that's life. So, I have to strive harder! :)

New Year, New Me

Change always starts in your mind. The way you think determines the way you feel. And the way you feel influences the way you act.
Changing for the better isn't easy. Trying to change myself into someone they want me to be is kinda hard. I don't want to change for the sake of others. I want them to accept me for who I am, not for what I am. But, I came to realize that maybe, there are attitudes about me that they don't like. Attitudes that annnoy them. You know, personality is very important to an individual.
Before the new year arrive, past memories come back to my mind. Sometimes bad. Sometimes good. These are the memories that affect me. Everytime I remember those memories, they upset me  and make me want to change for the better. And now, I really want to do it. It's already 2012! I want to change. Not only for them, but for myself  too. It won't be easy but I'll do my best!

Keeping In Mind Our Mother Tongue

"Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa mabaho at malansang isda." -Gat Jose Rizal
That's the famous quotation of our national hero about our national language. We are aware that Philippines has 87 dialects and our national language is Filipino.
Different languages, different dialects. But we are ought to keep in mind our native language. Learning different languages like English isn't bad. It has been used as an international language due to many countries, almost all over the world use English, including Philippines. They say that if you have a broken English or you don't know how to speak in English, you are an addlebrained person. But being not good in English doesn't mean that you are idiot. If you can't speak it, you'd better use the language you accustomed to use. Using your native language means you are proud of who you are. You don't have to be good in speaking different languages. What's important is that you can express yourself freely without trying hard to speak in another language. Be proud.

The True Essence of Christmas

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, the promised Savior. During this occasion, we are busy preparing and giving gifts. But, what is the true essence of Christmas?
To most people, Christmas is a time for receiving and giving gifts. It is a time to prepare many foods for Noche Buena. Foods and gifts are always present. But Christmas is the day for LOVE. We almost forget it. We give more importance to the material things during Christmas.
Why not give love on Christmas day? Share the blessings we have to others like the streetchildren. These are very simple children with very simple wishes. As long as they have food to eat and a place to sleep in, they will be happy. They appreciate even the smallest thing that we can give.
During Christmas also, we do not only give gifts, but we also forgive those who have sinned against us. Yes, it is not easy to forgive and forget. But let us find forgiveness in our hearts. Our hearts should be filled with love, joy, happiness, forgiveness not loneliness and hatred. Forgive the people who have done mistakes to us. They deserve forgiveness. Set our hearts free from hatred. Instead, fill it with love.
By doing these simple things, we can show the true spirit of Christmas. Not only in Christmas day, but also in our everyday lives. Give and forgive. Our love that comes from the bottom of our hearts is the best gift of all. SPREAD LOVE ON CHRISTMAS DAY! :-)

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

"Lahat tayo ay ipinanganak nang walang saplot."
                          -Kabesang Tales, El Filibusterismo

"We were all born naked," that's the literal meaning or translation of that quotation. But if we analyze it, it has deeper meaning. It has deeper thought. We just have to dig.
We were all born in this world with all the rights. We have the right to live. We have the right to a better life. Yes, we have the rights. But, are we using it in the right way? Sometimes, we don't because we are abusing it. We are taking advantage on it. We all know that that is not right. Yet, we don't care. We don't care if we offend someone. We just do what we want. People, we have the rights. But it doesn't mean that we're going to abuse it. We all have the equal rights. And we have to respect the rights of others. Let's give them the equal opportunities. The same opportunities we have. If we have the right, give them the right too. Don't be selfish. Don't be keen. Be fair to others. Give them the opportunities of life. Don't take it away from them.

Responding To Climate Change

During the early years of our forefathers, earth was so healthy. The sky was so clear and blue. The air was so fresh. The water was so clear that you can even stare your reflection on it. The environment was so green. Trees and plants were everywhere. But now, what have we done to Mother Earth?
Nowadays, earth is unhealthy. And WE, humans caused it.  We are creating pollution that leads to climate change. We are destroying our home. The only planet that supports life.
Climate Change has affected our lives due to our irresponsible deeds During calamities, too much rain pours and gusty winds blow. The result, destruction of many properties and milliuon of deaths. Weather has been more unpredictable and harsh.
So, if we care enough to do something about it, let's save Mother Earth, NOW. We still have the time. Do not wait before it's too late. PROTECT HER!

Chemergy: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy

Many say that Chemistry is a boring subject. When we are speaking about Chemistry, it is a branch of science that deals with the study of matter. It relates to different elements or chemicals and their formulas. Only few students are seemed to be interested in this subject. And usually, they excel in the class. So Science Club is promoting Chemistry as an interesting subject.
Promoting Chemistry isn't that easy. Not everybody is interested. They may say that it is boring. But it can be interesting if teachers will make it more exciting and more fun. If Chemistry is more exciting, you can expect students that they are more interested. Try to consider the way the teacher teaches. Would you expect Chemistry be an interesting subject  if the teacher is so serious and can't even crack a joke? The answer would be no. Teachers should add more fun when teaching Chemistry. In this way, students are more interested and more active in class.
Chemistry isn't that boring. There are just things that should be considered.

Promoting Digital Literacy Through English Proficiency

Can you imagine robots or computers writing an article for newspapers or any sort of reading materials?
Well, there's an article that says that a compuiters  can replace writers. This computer software writes almost human. It wrote as if human wrote it.
Now, writers are in danger of extinction. Computers willrule the world of writers if that will happen. But people are better than computers. There are things that computer doesn't know. Yes, people aren't perfect. But people can do better. They can practice on how to write and speak in English. First time is always a trial. And a trial can be improve. There is better and best.
Write and speak fluently. Beware wordsmiths. Robots are coming.

My Teacher, My Hero

In every success of an individual, there are teachers. Teachers who are very devoted to their profession. Teaching has been their passion. Their life. they poured everything just for the sake of the youths who are willing to learn and achieve higher goals in life. They are the one who motivate us to pursue our dreams. We owe them a lot.
Teachers are some of the most hardworking professionals. They do their very best to teach us everything we neeed to know and we want to know.  They are our second parents and our good friends. They comfort us in times of sadness and disappointments. They rejoice during our happiness and victories. They guide us to the right path. They do these things with all their heart and without expecing any rewards. They do these things because they love us unconditionally.
But sometimes, we misinterpret them just because there are times  that they scold us and hurt our feelings unintentionally.  We think that we were humiliated or were embarrassed.  Beause of this, we feel bad. But it is for our own good. We left them no choice. All they want for us is to become a better person. Maybe instead of feeling bad to them,  we should extend our understanding.
Indeed, they are worthy of our love, respect and appreciation. They are the one who are behind  of our success. Of all the achievements and goals we earned. Let's thank them from the deepest part of our hearts. Teachers are UNSUNG HEROS.

My Supermodel Hero

Idols. Heroes. People who you look up to as an inspiration or a role model. And everyone of us has our own idol or hero. These people influence us to do something good in our own little way and be a role model to others. Due to this, we become a better person, better than who we are before.
Like other people, I have my own hero. She is Tyra Banks. She's a supermodel and a host of the number one show for those girls who are aspiring to become the America's Next Top Model and follow her footsteps. I really like her.  She's not only beautiful, she's also kind, nice and very down-to-earth. Even though she is so famous, she still stepped her feet on the ground. She doesn't forget where she came from and who was she before she became a supermodel.
That's the greatest lesson I have learned from her. To stay in track no matter how far I am now. Always look back to the place where you came from.SHE IS MY SUPERMODEL HERO! :-D

Pnoy's Sona

State of the Nation Address or SONA is an event where the president of the Philippines reports about the progress of our country during his/her term. Last July 25 of this year, President Benigno Aquino III delivered his first SONA at Session Hall, Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City which was attended by the other politicians.
In his SONA, Pnoy proudsly announced all of the progress during his term. Some of these are "wang-wang" the debt of Philippines that had reached over a billion of peso that was left by the administration of Arroyo and funds for different government agencies. He was proud of telling about these. But there are people who are not satisfied in the president's performance during his first year in srvice. \these are negative comments about his SONA.
But in his over all performances, he had achieved some people's satisfaction including mine. May he continue the good work he had started and end it with the best.

Isulong ang Breastfeeding- Tama, Sapat at Eksklusibo

Milk is the main food of a baby. It is secreted in a mammary glands of females for the nourishment of their young. In another word, it is breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is the best for a newly born baby. During the first three days of breastfeeding, the baby can get the milk secreted for a few days after parturition and characterized  by high protein and anti-body called colostrum.  The baby should take this because this serves as a protection against diseases and infections. It helps to improve a baby's immune system when it grows up.
But nowadays, there are mothers who give their babies a commercial milk. It came from animals, that was turned into a powder that needs a preparation. This is usually given by mothers who have no time to breast-feed their babies. They think that a commercial milk can give the same nutrients like a breast-milk. But it's not. This commercial milk has chemicals. Even the DOH is pursuing mothers to breastfeed their babies.
Mothers should take good care of their babies by breastfeeding them. In that way, they are comfortable that their babies have the good health they want for them.

President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino
His Excellency, The President
MalacaƱang Palace, Manila

Dear Mr. President,
A pleasant and a blessed day to you Sir! Let me introduce myself to you, I am Pauline Manzano of Vigan City. I want to approach to you one of the problems here in our country, our environment.
I know Sir that this is not new to you. And as a student and a citizen of Philippines, I am deeply concerned. There have been abuse of nature here in our country. Are you not aware of that Sir? You should not only concentrate about political issues and other.I suggest that you should also concentrate about the betterment of the nature and its protection against those people who abuse it and do not care about it. You can't create another Philippines when it's destroyed. I want to protect nature. I want a better environment for all so that the next generation will still see the beauty of it. Let's save Mother Earth. Not only for those who care about nature, but all the people in Philippines. We should also be a role model when it comes in protecting Mother Earth. Philippines is like a paradise. It's like that all the creations of God are here. Apparently gathered the riches of God.
I think Sir, I have told enough about my concern. Thank you so much and God bless you.

                                                                                                                  Respectfully yours,
                                                                                                                  Pauline Manzano
